Please bring in the balance for your fieldtrip, if you haven't done so already!  Homework will be very lite this week for all classes.   We will focus on reading and clearly understanding our assigned texts.

Monday
Present 1 or 2 glogs
Nick Bottom thinks he is better than all of the other play performers.  Do you know any friends or people in your life who think their talents are far more superior than their peers?
Soliloquy- -the actors on stage communicate their inner thoughts and feelings as if they are talking to themselves.  they are oblivous to onlookers. 
Monologue- -The actors address the audience in a long, single discourse..
What is it?  How is it different from a monologue?
Sonnets- the formula for a sonnet
Sonnets-14 lined, rhymed poems “love song” or “love sound
3 quatrains (4 lines in each stanza)
Last two lines are a couplet that rhyme
First stanza, ABAB;
second stanza, CDCD;
third stanza, EFEF;
and the couplet, GG. 

Analyze and compare two sonnets and the expression of love in each.

Analyze Brabantio’s reaction to Othello
Class discussion on racial undertones in the play.
Find evidence of racial remarks and analyze them for stereotypes and examine if Othello matches these stereotypes.

Group:  Create a 20 line script of Act 1.  Tell the action in 20 lines.  You cannot add to the original script, but you can shorten lines or leave portions of lines out.  Perform your scenes to class tomorrow
