    Analyzing the motivations of characters

Gilda Joyce lied about going to San Francisco for the summer to her classmates. She asked her mother, if she could go and visit relatives she has not seen before. Her mother told her she could not go, but Gilda still wrote a letter that has lies about her family. Her motivation for lying was so she can spend the summer in San Francisco.

    Questions Arise from your reading

I have on question that came up to me when I was reading this book. That is why does India Moody spend most or her day at the Trimble's place even if Emory is her teacher? She studies for about 5 hours with Emory then she just stays at the house for like another hour or so. I would go home and relax and spend time with my family and also my dad before he goes to war. I think that is just stupid.

    Prediction

I think in the up coming pages that India will run away from the trimbles and try to find her way to Ohio so that she can live with her great friend Julia Pardoe. Then if she goes there she can get her degree because the Oberlin College in Ohio accepts women so she can go. Also, her dad just died in a field hospital so she will stop by there and say a true good bye and she'll also go find her mom and say good bye. In Oberlin she'll work in the college farms so she can pay off the tuition or Julia's dad will be nice enough to pay the tuition for both of them because they are both the same age.

    Considering another character's pov

I am being Mr. Hunter Strother the Virginia Yankee. I am thinking why the India girl went so that i can bring her to winchester with calvin but it looks like she wants to go away and die on her own.

    At Harpers Ferry.
Ah. Atlast Ms. India Moody you are here can you pose for me as the Young Rebel Girl who saved a Yankee Officer. Yes I know where Emory Trimble is. She is at Point Lookout prison being the medic because she was captured at Wilderness. Yes I will bring you there if you sit still for about one hour.

    On the train ride.
Yes I had another temper. I was angry at Geneva Trimble because she was taking care of a criminal, Patrick Reilly. He is one of John Mosby's Rangers which are also known as the 43rd Virginia Calvary. He killed my best friend with a Piano Wire. Gettting your head whipped off is the worst way to die.
